In 1597, amidst the threat of plague and the quiet of Cornwall, Shakespeare has retreated from the world, his quill unmoved and his future uncertain. The frightful Queen Elizabeth I has delivered an ultimatum – produce a new play or face the permanant end of theatre as we know it – Shakespeare’s escape is shattered. Enter Yorick, a loud-mouth talking skeleton whose irreverence, tall stories, and relentless humour and force Shakespeare to confront the very things he’s been avoiding.
