A Gathering for Hospice Workers, Volunteers, and Caregivers
Launching March 3, 2026 • 7:00–8:30 PM
West Florida Funeral Home • 1200 W Gadsden St, Pensacola, FL
Those who walk beside the hurting often carry unseen burdens of their own. On March 3, we invite you to join us for the launch of The Comforters Group, a monthly grief‑support gathering created especially for our hospice partners — nurses, CNAs, volunteers, chaplains, social workers, and all who serve.
These evenings offer a gentle space to rest, share, breathe, and be strengthened through food, fellowship, and the company of those who understand the weight of this sacred work.
Our group will continue to meet on the first Tuesday of each month thereafter.
🕊️ What We’ll Explore Together
During our time together, we’ll begin with an important question:
“Is my grief normal?”
We will start walking through 51 questions we all ask about loss, including:
What do people tend to avoid when grieving
What grief actually is
How to prepare for moments when grief takes you by surprise
…and much more
This group is informal yet deeply fulfilling — a place where comforters can finally be comforted.
💚 A Message to Every Hospice Professional
To every hospice nurse, aide, volunteer, chaplain, social worker, and caregiver who is carrying more than anyone realizes:
You are seen. You are valued. You are not alone.
Some days feel heavier than others. Some nights linger long after your shift ends. But even in the moments when you feel stretched thin or emotionally worn, please remember:
Your compassion is making a difference.
Every quiet act of kindness, every gentle touch, every moment you sit beside someone in their final hours — these are sacred gifts.
Even when you feel tired, your presence brings peace.
Even when you feel unnoticed, your work is deeply meaningful.
If this season feels heavy, take heart.
You don’t have to carry it all by yourself.
We are here to walk beside you, support you, and remind you that your well‑being matters too.
You give so much.
Let this be a place where you can breathe again.
