Join us for an evening of poetry, art, and mystic exploration celebrating CAConrad’s residency at 309 Punk Project.
CAConrad will open the event with a lecture on Occult Poetics, exploring how poets’ occult and paranormal experiences have shaped creative practice across time. The talk will reflect on how these forces remain active today, drawing on the work of Kabir, Rumi, Hannah Weiner, Will Alexander, Hoa Nguyen, Alice Notley, and Ariana Reines.
Bring your tarot deck and participate in a community tarot exchange during the first hour of the evening.
CA will also introduce (Soma)tic Poetry Rituals, a practice for writers and artists that opens a window into the creative viability of everything around us. These rituals initiate an “extreme present,” where we learn how, even in times of crisis, we can thrive through poetry and collaborate in unexpected ways across artistic disciplines.
Please bring notebooks and pens. The evening concludes with a performance featuring a slideshow of the animals CA collaborated with while writing their newest poems, along with images of the resulting poetry sculptures.
