Led by Mark and Kyle of the 505 Joint Task Force, this interactive workshop focuses on the radio side of communication- less theory, more hands-on. Participants will:

- See live radio set ups

- Learn basic radio etiquette

- Experience what it is like to get on the air

- Have a chance to win your own HAM/GMRS radio

Kyle will demonstrate transmissions using his call sign and can set up a working radio so attendees can listen and participate!

As an optional part of the class, participants will be guided through getting their FCC Registration Number (FRN)  and shown how to apply for a GMRS license on the spot. The GMRS license costs $35, and typically process within 24-48 hours, and provides immediate legal access to use GMRS radios.

Perfect for campers, families, outdoor enthusiasts, emergency preparedness, or anyone curious about radio communication. No experience needed, all ages welcome!
