Dr Josh Byrne, ABC's Gardening AustraliaBest known for his presenting role on ABC’s Gardening Australia, Dr Byrne is an Environmental Scientist with a personal passion for sustainable design. His own home in Perth achieves a 10 star rating using the Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme (NatHERS), and live monitoring tracks its real world performance. Learn about the design features that keeps the home comfortable inside with no air conditioning on stifling 40+ degree Perth days.
Mark Davis, Mark Davis DesignsMark is a Blue Mountains based building designer and Certified Passive House Designer, who has delivered sustainable building projects across Sydney and the mountains. He takes a practical and considered approach to his work, to deliver comfortable, heathy and efficient homes that deliver great outcomes for the families who live in them. Hear about his work designing homes from scratch, as well as renovations and extensions to the globally recognised Passive House methodology.
Nevin Sweeney, Permaculture Sydney WestNevin lives in the Penrith region and is passionate about living more sustainably in suburbia. His permaculture garden has been featured on ABC’s Gardening Australia, and he’s undertaken a range of actions to make his typical suburban home more efficient and sustainable. A strident believer that the most sustainable home is one that’s already built, he’ll outline his tips to make your existing home cooler and more efficient.
