- **Event Description**: Salem Community College welcomes the public to the Sam & Jean Jones Glass Education Center on Sunday, April 12, for an afternoon of glass!

Admission to the Glass Education Center and the sale is free! The SCC Glass Club's sale will feature handmade glass gift items including flowers, jewelry, vases, paperweights, and more from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. While visiting the center, guests may tour the glass studios, view our glass collections, and watch glassmaking in action!

Also on April 12, the Glass Education Center will be running several hands-on glassmaking workshops. No glass experience is necessary, but please note minimum age requirements for each experience. The Glass Education Center is located at Salem Community College, 460 Hollywood Ave., Carneys Point, NJ at parking lot A. 

Available workshops on April 12: 

Fused Glass Garden Art*, 1.5 hour session from 12:30pm - 2:00pm, or 2:30pm - 4:00pm, $60.00 per person - Create your very own beautiful garden decoration!  Participants will create their one-of-a-kind garden artwork by layering pieces of flat glass and enamels and heating them in a kiln.  Ages 4 and up. Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. 
 
Flameworked Color Twist Pendants (hanging focal beads), 3 hour session from 1pm - 4pm, $65.00 per person - Spend a full three hours in our flameworking studio using glass, heat, gravity and simple tools to create your very own colorful glass pendants at the torch! Each participant will have enough time to create multiple beads! Ages 10 and up. Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.   
 
Hot Glass Flower*, 1.5-hour sessions between 12:00pm - 1:30pm, or 2:30pm - 4pm, $50.00- Participants will create a glass flower from the furnace in our glassblowing studio! Ages 14 and up. Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

(*Due to the process, items will need to be picked up at a later date, or can be shipped for an additional fee.)
