ARC/PSE&G is sponsoring the annual Day in the Sun--Salem County's special olympics type event for people with disabilities. The event will be held at the Salem Community College Field House on May 9th, it kicks off at 10:00 a.m. and ends around 2:00 PM. Day in the Sun is staffed entirely by volunteers.

This is a great day for both participants and the volunteers. There will be games, food, dancing and medals. Everyone is a winner!

We need volunteers to assist with various aspects of the event, especially "huggers." A "hugger" helps assist and encourage one or two athletes with hugs, smiles and cheers. Some participants need more support than others. Support can range from pushing a wheelchair to being a cheerleader. Volunteers are also needed to assist with serving food, registration, and setting up games.  It's a fun day and there are always plenty of things for the volunteers to do!

Come make a difference, have some fun and spread a little sunshine in the process!
