Seeking the Interior in Landscape with Austin MacRae

Would you like to give your acrylic paintings more “pop”? Are you interested in creating more depth in your landscapes? Have you ever wanted to explore acrylic mediums? Are you interested in expanding your mark-making repertoire? If so, this workshop is for you. Participants will delve into various acrylic techniques such as underpainting, glazing, and wet-sanding, as well as non-traditional mark-making techniques utilizing painter’s tape, household items, etc. Other topics will include mixing chromatic blacks to achieve more depth, employing palette knife techniques, and using a hair-dryer to build up layers quickly. Instructor Austin McRae will begin the class with a demonstration, then assist students in bringing their own landscapes to life. Participants are encouraged to bring a reference photo with them. All supplies will be provided, but students can feel free to bring their preferred paints, brushes, etc.
