Join us for a Desensitization Clinic at Windswept Ranch!🐴❤️
This clinic gives people a chance to expose their horses to scary situations in a safe environment.
We help guide teams through scenarios in our covered arena, and expose them to a variety of objects they may come across while riding. If the weather allows, we will also set-up outdoor scenarios in one of our pastures for alternative exposures.
This is a two-part clinic with the morning session focused on groundwork and the afternoon open to under saddle exposure. Participants may sign up for groundwork only if they prefer.
These clinics are great for trail riders, obstacle exposure, and anyone interested in participating in community events.
Scenarios include: bubble machines, strollers, bicycles, sound makers, roadside equipment, livestock, flags, etc.
We do our best to include a variety of items that can be interesting for both sight and sound sensitive horses.
Details:
- Morning Groundwork session only: $30 per participant, per horse
- Full Clinic (groundwork and under saddle): $50 per participant, per horse
- Clinic begins at 1030am. Please be ready to begin on time.
- We will have a 30 minute lunch break between sessions. If you would like to order a Blue Cow Deli lunch for an additional cost, please let us know by Wednesday, March 4th.
- If you are trailering in, please carpool if possible
- Clinic is limited to 15 participants.
Clinics should be fun with a focus on horsemanship and safety. All levels of ability and experience are welcome. If you are handling a young/inexperienced animal and would like some assistance, please let us know in advance. We are happy to help!
