At this workshop, we’ll be out in the field working with live goats as we cover the essentials on herd health, management, and forages; no PowerPoint, just practical skills you can take back to the farm.
Come out and learn all about the fundamentals of small ruminant care from Clemson Extension specialists Dr. Patty Scharko, Maggie Miller, and Hannah Conover.
Note: This is the address for the church across the street from the farm. The correct driveway will be marked with signage
Tentative Agenda:
· 5:00pm-5:30pm: registration and a light meal and refreshments served
· 5:30pm-6:00pm: pasture walk with discussion of forages, plant identification, and farm facility planning with Maggie Miller and farm owner Jim Roberts
· 6:00pm-7:30pm: hands-on demonstration with Dr. Patty Scharko and Maggie Miller. Topics include body condition scoring, hoof trimming, injection administration, and more.
