That shared spontaneity remains at the heart of their performances today, where every song becomes a conversation.Kat Rees is a Welsh bilingual jazz singer whose soulful interpretations have earned her a special place among modern jazz artists. A regular on BBC Radio Cymru, Kat has also been featured on BBC Radio 3’s “Soweto Kinch: ‘Round Midnight”. Her debut Live EP with The Siglo Section was spotlighted on ITV Wales as a landmark—being among the first original Welsh-language big band recordings. Tomos Williams, in an article for BBC Cymru Fyw, described her as, "Imagine Ella Fitzgerald and her orchestra singing in Welsh and you're not that far off."Kat has performed on prestigious stages including Y Llais, the BAFTA-nominated singing competition, Brecon Jazz festival, Wall2Wall Jazz Festival, and headlined the Cowbridge Music Festival in 2025.Known for blending tradition with innovation, Kat continues to enchant audiences across Wales and beyond with her bilingual jazz storytelling.Laurie Rich is a pianist and composer working in the idiom of improvised music who began his studies at London's Royal Academy of Music this September, with the support of Help Musicians, after graduating from Cardiff University's School of Music in 2025.Laurie co-leads the Berlin-based modern-jazz collective 'BiggerPicture' alongside Danish Bujazzo trumpeter Tobias Bech.
