Pembroke Historical Society will be hosting a presentation and reading of the Pembroke Resolves.
Join us at 12pm on Sunday, April 19th at the First Church in Pembroke, the site where the Pembroke Resolves was signed on December 28, 1772.
We encourage all residents of Pembroke, Hanson (which was a part of Pembroke until 1820) and any local foks interested in Revolution History to attend this great event.
This year’s presentation is even more notable as it’s our country’s 250th anniversary. Pembroke played a critically important role in the American Revolution.
Following the presentation and reading, join us over the Historical Society at 1:00pm. We will have an Open House with drinks, refreshments and a tour of our Resolves artifacts. Many of the authors of “Pembroke, Ancient Trails to the 21st Century”, will be there to sign copies of the books that are available for purchase.
Later that afternoon, some of our volunteers will be joining our Hanson friends at the Fern Hill Cemetary to clean graves of Pembroke soldiers that marched 250 years ago to the day on April 19, 1776. We did this last year as well. A wonderful way to pay tribute to the those whom helped form our country. If you’d like to stop by to watch the cleaning process, please do.
