All are welcome to our fourth annual Pennamaquan Alewife Festival. This is a free, family-friendly event open to the public.
SMOKING AND EATING OF FISH: Terran works the DSF smoker, free lunch buffet provided by Smithereen Farm at noon
LEARN: Downeast Salmon Federation info table, Biologist talks, testing, and netting with Sara Williams of DSF
PRESENTATION: 11am, in the Grey Lodge parlor, slideshow and talk by nurseryman, educator, and permaculture specialist Aaron Parker of Edgewood Nursery in Falmouth. Brought to you by the Eat Downeast! Campaign
BIKE LIKE A FISH: tune ups by Mike Stuart of Mike’s Bikes in Eastport, and a group ride up the river in the afternoon
CREATE: Make art with local artists! Fish painting with Jessica George and more
FOR KIDS: Kids activities with Sophie Foster
EXPLORE: Walk the (flat, family-friendly) Alewife Trail beside the river, an interpretive path with signage by local artist. Take a dip in the river!
LIVE MUSIC: Keltic Schmeltic in the afternoon

The Smithereen Farmstore will be open 9am–5pm, with local produce, cheese, meats, bakery etc. Special treats just for the festival, and plenty of delicious treasures to take home.
Make a weekend of it and book your campsite at Smithereen Farm or Cobscook Bay State Park for a full agritourism experience.
