About the event

Snow Snake: Indigenous Winter Game
Learn about and play the Indigenous game of snow snake Saturday, Feb. 21, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Pembina State Museum. Similar to ice gliders, the game features a “snake” carved from a long wooden pole or stick that is thrown across icy ground to see whose travels the farthest. The event is for those ages 6 and older. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Museum staff have several snow snakes and a track prepared for the event. Free hot chocolate will be available to keep players warm. Held on the back lawn, the program is outdoors and dependent on the weather. Check our Facebook page in the event of inclement weather.

The forecast is showing cold temperatures, so be sure to dress for the weather!
