Directed by Valerie Brock, Murder is on the Air is a funny romp through the early days of television. Auditions are Sunday March 1, 2026, at 4:30 PM and Monday March 2, 2026, at 6:30 PM and will consist of improv games and cold readings from the script. Resumes and head shots appreciated.
The shows will be performed on May 29 and 30 at the Pelham Civic Center Complex, in conjunction with Pelham BEAT. This is a dinner theatre, audience participation murder mystery.
It is 1957 and TV is replacing radio. Welcome to the set of I Love Lizzie. This top rated, live audience sitcom has the beloved star, her quirky sidekick, the people behind the scenes and popular guest stars. Unfortunately, there is also a detective who is new to the scene. It seems Murder Is on the Air. Come to the show and help unravel the mystery as we figure out whodunit.

Station Owner - Al Capone type. It's his party and he can keep you on it or blacklist you. Smarmy, self-important, a blowhard. Always has a huge cigar in his mouth. Male, 40+
Lizzie Bell - Comedienne and Sitcom Star. Lucille Ball type. 30+
Macie Dixon - Lizzie's “friend” and co-star. Seems ditsy but is actually conniving. 30+
Fred Finkelmeyer - Floor director for the sitcom. A “yes” man with an internal anger. Comfortable interacting with the audience for responses to the show. Male 30+
Ricardo Montelato - Guest Star. Spanish actor and heart throb. No comedic timing. Male 30+ Spanish speaking or accent needed
Samantha Starr - Starlet. A budding actress who wants stardom now and will use her “assets” to get there. Female 25+ ok being provocative
Zack LaPaine - Jack LaLaine type. Lizzie show sponsor and is not pleased with people who are not fit and don't use his health product. Male 30+ athletic build
Jack Thursday - Police detective. Pensive, likes dramatic pauses, “facts only” type and has no problem exposing all details of the suspects
