Wreaths Across America Setup Day

We will be receiving either 3 or 4 trucks to unload 1,126 boxes of wreaths by hand. We have a new box which is supposed to make handling easier. 26" Long x 16" Wide x 32" High and weighs about 40 lbs. It holds 12 wreaths instead 9.
The plan is to unload each truck starting at the entrance and moving towards the back. Once arriving please start at entrance and work your way back. Please do not unload park trucks unless otherwise instructed. We have designated number per section unload off of each truck with different appointment times. Last year random truck were unloaded at one section and caused more work for volunteers with missing wreaths for certain sections.



There will be a checker assigned to each truckload to ensure the proper amount of boxes come off of the truck and per section. Counts must be accurate because some trucks have multiple loads for other cemeteries. Please dress weather appropriate and I recommend gloves.


We will also have a group that will bag and preposition the approximately 700 designated grave specific wreaths. They will set up in Section Y unless it rains, then on the concrete at the Columbarium. I would ask that anyone who finishes unloading, to please check with the grave specific group to lend a hand before you leave. This task takes the most time. It would be sincerely appreciated. We never know how many volunteers will participate but hopefully, as in past years, we will have enough. We can never have too many!!
