Our much loved Intro to Sewing Machines workshop, but with a Christmassy twist! Come and learn all about how to get the most out of your sewing machine, and make yourself a lovely little stocking to take away and hang by the fire.
We will cover:
🎄Filling bobbins and threading up
🎄Understanding and balancing thread tensions
🎄Correct needle and thread selection
🎄Length, width and pattern selectors
🎄How to sew accurately and stay straight
🎄Using the footplate guidelines
🎄Backtacking to secure seams
🎄How to avoid tangles and skipped stitches
🎄Trouble shooting and machine maintenance
You can bring your own machine, or use a studio one if you prefer. The workshop takes place on a Saturday morning, and will be accompanied throughout by hot drinks, mince pies and festive tunes to get us into the Christmas mood.
