What is Aerial Yoga? In an aerial yoga class, you perform the same poses you do on a yoga mat, except you use a silk hammock that's suspended from the ceiling as a prop to support you through the various flows. The purpose of the hammock is to help you improve flexibility and build strength, while allowing you to do more challenging poses without added pressure on your shoulders, spine, or head. In this 75-minute class we will cover common wraps, catches and poses and will move at a pace that allows for modifications and questions.
A Few Important Details:
-Please arrive 15 minutes early to ensure enough time to measure your yoga hammock prior to the start of class.
-You must 15 years or older to participate in a class.
-We do use yoga mats for class under the hammocks.
-Because we are working with fabric hammocks it is best to keep sensitive areas covered during class such as the armpits and backs of the knees and not jewelry as it can rip the fabric.
-Due to the small class size there is a 36 hour cancellation policy for refunds.
