This annual event was created to reach out to our homeless veterans and transitioning veterans, at a time when it can be very emotionally painful. While most Americans are spending quality time with their families, buying gifts, eating feasts, and enjoying decorating their homes, we have many veterans who fought for that freedom living without it.
NVHS takes donations all year long to prepare to host “WARM, FULL, SAFE” where they put dozens of homeless veterans and families,in a hotel for two days. Provide meals, presents, and the resources they need to gain employment.
PSFB Marina members and friends will be baking cookies to be distributed to help the NVHS. We will be bagging them up on Sunday 14th December at 3pm on the deck outside the clubhouse. Anyone wanting to help bag, please come, it only takes 2 hours. We have been doing this for the last 13 years.
Baked cookies, wrapped candies or store bought cookies can be left with Willy at the Chiefs meeting on Saturday 13th 9-11am marked COOKIES FOR NVHS, he will be there Sunday morning from 10am or contact Patty O’Boyle 704-512-8125 and you can leave them with her.
This year they are in desperate need as there are 70 veterans and 50 children who are in transitional housing. So they are also asking for hats, gloves and scarves.
