Village Connections: Identifying & Navigating Depression During the Holidays

psychological challenges, especially this year as our community has experienced so much loss due to the Eaton Fire. This workshop offers a compassionate space to explore the internal experience of depression, particularly during a season often marked by pressure, comparison, and emotional strain. We’ll begin by understanding what depression truly is—beyond temporary sadness—and how it can disrupt daily life.

Together, we'll unpack the added weight the holidays can bring: financial stress, over-commitment, family dynamics, unrealistic expectations, and the pain of grief or loneliness. Participants will gain insight into how internal struggles collide with external pressures, and leave with strategies to navigate the season with greater awareness, self-compassion, and resilience.
