He served as Assistant to the Director of the GIA Gem Trade Lab in Los Angeles and later taught gemology at both GIA and the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. From the late 90’s and for most of the 2000’s, Roskin was Senior Gemstone Editor for JCK Magazine and later CEO of the International Colored Gemstone Association. He is the author of Photo Masters for Diamond Grading and today publishes the Roskin Gem News Report, an independent industry newsletter and online magazine read by thousands of jewelers, dealers, and appraisers worldwide. A frequent speaker for professional and educational organizations, he has presented programs for GIA and GIA Alumni chapters, AGS Conclaves and Guilds, appraisal associations including NAJA, ISA, ASA, and JVA, and institutions such as the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. In recognition of his contributions to gemological education and the trade, he received the Antonio C.
