Since 1997, the Marian Barrett Lecture has become an annual event and a highlight of our Nursing calendar at The University of Melbourne.30 years ago the School of Postgraduate Nursing was created at Melbourne University with a vision to maximise the potential of nurses in the healthcare system. This lecture will reflect on that vision and the challenges that continue to face the profession at a time when nurses are needed more than ever.
