Basic Beginner Sewing Lessons for those who are just beginning their sewing journey!
If you have wanted to learn how to sew, but don't know where to begin, this class is for you! Get a great foundation of introductory information by learning to use a straight stitch sewing machine and getting an overview of all of the machines we have at our studio. This course is chock full of information that beginner sewists need. We will cover a lot of information but also allow plenty of time for questions, review and practice.
Class Breakdown:
This class will be an introduction to everything you need to know to begin using a sewing machine. Learn to thread the machine, wind a bobbin, insert a needle, straight stitch and trouble shoot. We will start a sewing journal that you can use to take notes and attach samples.

After this class you will be use a sewing machine comfortably and confidently! AND you will be introduced to the serger, cover-stitch, blind-hemmer and walking foot machines!

Amy Henson, owner of Craftwork Studios and lifelong professional seamstress, former owner of a successful sewing business, specializing in bridal, formal wear and alterations.
Carla Cavanaugh, lifelong seamstress with working experience in theatre, tv and film costuming, historic costuming and an avid interest in fiber arts such as embroidery, spinning and weaving.
