The film stars Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman as Washington Post journalists Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein, whose investigation into suspicious goings-on at the Watergate Hotel uncovers the biggest political scandal of the century and ultimately leads to the downfall of President Richard Nixon. Pakula builds riveting tension with almost documentary-like realism, while Gordon Willis’s shadowy cinematography suggests sinister dimensions of danger and corruption.

Park City Film has programmed a series of our favorite Robert Redford films from October to December as a tribute to the legendary actor and director’s work across the decades, and in celebration of his tireless advocacy for independent film.
