This nourishing retreat is for any woman or non-binary person who is craving a break from the hustle and bustle of the holiday season and wants to be pampered with care and surrounded by other lovely humans seeking respite.Arrive around 2pm on Saturday December 20th to get settled in and we will gather for opening circle at 3pm. Opening circle will involve introductions, intention setting, a guided meditation and the opportunity to journal free form or with optional prompts.Saturday evening, there will be a glorious balance of down time to simply exist, a delicious meal to nourish your body, and a thoughtfully crafted yoga practice to ease your mind and aliven your spirit. We will wrap up the evening with Jess' tried and true favorite offering, Ecstatic Yoga, which is a playful fusion of yoga and ecstatic dance that reliably supports people in easing tension from their bodies, releasing clutter from their minds and awakening their spirits. The practice rides a bell curve of energy starting with a slow flow vinyasa, gradually moving into free form dance, and finishes with a juicy yin practice to wind down. After practice, folks will be welcome to journal, engage in their evening routine, and/or go to bed to honor the darkest day of the year with extra rest.On Sunday morning, Jess will offer an optional slow vinyasa practice for the early risers (around 7am) who want to start the day with a gentle, yet engaging movement practice (about 45min). We will have warm breakfast and tea around 8:30.Around 10am, we will move into a fun creative workshop to make a craft with natural materials offered by Em. Em will provide some materials and lead a joyful walk on the property to harvest some additional materials for the craft. Exact craft to be announced soon ;)Lunch around 12:30pm.Around 2:00pm, we will move into a yin/restorative yoga practice that serves the purpose of supporting people in releasing deep seated tension in their connective tissues. We will start with yin and people will be encouraged to express how they need to move through the edge, and we will finish with restorative poses that feel very restful and relaxing for folks to settle their nervous systems and integrate the yin practice. Yin poses feel like a deep stretch; restorative poses feel like deep rest. After the yin/restorative practice, we will have a little break for people to care for their needs and then we will regroup to sit together in circle and close our time with reflections, gratitude, and reconnecting with our intentions for how we can best support ourselves through the dark and cold times. We will wrap up by 4:00pm and folks will be welcome to take their time in packing up to head home.Jess is working on collecting testimonials from folks who have attented their practices before. They work towards these goals through a variety of modalities: connecting with nature through rock climbing, hiking and forest bathing; teaching yoga as a lifestyle and physical practice; sharing herbal medicine wisdom and the practice of using food as medicine; sharing Ecstatic Yoga and somatic movement practices; and combining a variety of these modalities in1-3 day retreats for people that center adventure, deep rest, or some balance between the two.Jess is a beacon of hope in a world that tries to teach us that we are not worthy unless we live or look a certain way. They hope to touch people's hearts in a way that helps them soften and slow down to listen to the teachings of their bodies and callings of their souls. Jess wishes to spread love, patience, curiosity and compassion with all who cross their path. Jess is a safe space for any and all emotions and especially loves working with people who feel insecure or nervous about connecting to their own bodies, building new habits, and developing a deeper sense of trust in the process."
