Heads up all poultry exhibitors. There has been a development in the testing and banding process that was completed last weekend at the fairgrounds. The blood draws and tests that were performed were performed properly but the type of bands used on the birds have been found to not be the proper bands according to the Arkansas State Livestock & Poultry Commission. Since this determination has been made, the proper bands have been sourced and will be available at this weekends testing, that will be held at the fairgrounds, on Saturday from 6pm to 9pm. If you had your birds tested last weekend and your birds had the plastic bands applied, please bring your birds back Saturday evening to have the correct bands applied. If you cannot make it up Saturday evening, we can catch you and your birds before you enter the fairgrounds on August 19th on check in day. Please make sure that you have your paperwork that was given to you at the testing because we will have to update that paperwork with the new tag numbers that will be applied. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused but we will do everything that we can to make sure that everyone is in compliance with any and all Livestock and Poultry rules and regulations before you enter the fairgrounds on check in day.
