Le groupe Oruã, basé à Rio de Janeiro, est devenu un acteur clé de la scène musicale brésilienne. Mené par le guitariste et producteur Lê Almeida, il mélange rock indé lo-fi, krautrock, noise, afrobeat et influences brésiliennes.

En 2019, la légende de l'indie Doug Martsch de Built to Spill a découvert leur son, ce qui a conduit à des collaborations, y compris la coproduction de l'album 2022 de Built to Spill « When the Wind Forgets Your Name » (Sub Pop).
