Exploring Realistic Quantum Emulation with Callisto
C12 is a Paris-based quantum computing startup building the next generation of scalable quantum computers. We are pioneering a unique approach rooted in breakthrough materials science and novel interconnects. We’re early-stage, fast-moving, and already a leader in Europe for spin qubits.
In this lecture, we will explore notebooks that demonstrate the capabilities of Callisto, C12’s realistic quantum emulator. Callisto allows users to develop and test quantum algorithms on a classical machine while accurately mimicking the behavior and limitations of real quantum hardware. Although classical computers cannot fully replicate large-scale quantum systems, Callisto enables meaningful experimentation with a limited number of qubits and ensures that the resulting code can later run effectively on quantum processors.
What sets Callisto apart is its realistic noise modeling. Quantum devices operate in inherently noisy environments, and understanding these noise characteristics is essential for designing robust quantum algorithms. By emulating these effects faithfully, Callisto provides a powerful platform for prototyping algorithms that are not only functional but resilient—bridging today’s classical tools with tomorrow’s quantum technologies.
