You’ve seen my solo performances with my original songs. You’ve seen me playing with different bands throughout all these years since I came to America. And right now I’m on tour with KOMMUNA LUX, where we are having an absolute blast. But behind all of this there is an incredible force that supports me and inspires me. That person is my wife — Yelyzaveta. Not everyone knows that throughout all this time she has also been deeply involved in volunteer work, helping people and families who especially need support. Yelizaveta’s birthday is coming soon, and I know this post will be a surprise for her. On Thursday, October 22, in honor of her birthday, together with United Together International and Forte Piano Music Company, I’m organizing a benefit concert. 100% of the money raised will go toward helping the families supported by the foundation. Right now, preparations are underway for yet another very difficult winter. Since the beginning of the war, the foundation has provided hundreds of thousands of dollars in assistance — and those large amounts are built little by little, contribution by contribution. So we are grateful for any support. Suggested admission is $15, plus whatever your heart tells you to give. Maybe we’ll call this concert “Strings of the Soul 2”, or maybe “Me and My Soul.” We’ll see. :) We’ll enjoy the concert, celebrate Elizaveta, play, sing, spend time together, and simply have a great evening. I’ll be presenting some new songs, and I have a feeling there will be quite a few surprises. And a special message to my musician friends: if you’re coming — bring your instruments. Almost every musician who knows me well has, at one point or another, helped me bring my songs to life. Of course, the evening will have its own program, but I have a feeling there will be plenty of surprises. And if anyone feels like joining me musically, taking part in a few numbers, or jumping in later in the evening — you are always welcome.
