Casa Faith Formation Service & Immersion Program
Experience the pastoral work of the Franciscan friars and the Tohono O'odham culture.
The Tohono O’odham Nation sits deep in the Sonoran Desert, about two-and-a-half hours’ drive south from Phoenix. It is about the size of Connecticut. The ancestral lands of the people spanned as far west as the border of Baja California and as far south as the Sonoran capital city of Hermosillo. For over 100 years, the friars have served thousands of our indigenous brothers and sisters, establishing a dozen missions in the town of Topawa to serve over 50 villages on the reservation. These missions are called the San Solano Missions.
You are invited to join us on this special desert immersion experience to the San Solano Missions. There, you will learn more deeply the pastoral work of the friars, experience the wondrous beauty of the Sonoran wilderness, and encounter the amazing Tohono O’odham culture.
Registration Fee: $150 per person. Your registration fee will cover transportation, meals, and overall cost of running the program.
We will depart from the Casa early Saturday morning and return to the Casa on Sunday before noon.
