SOCCER CAMP FOCUS
Footwork & Moves Focus: Dribbling, ball control, moves, turns and feints, change of direction, acceleration, speed dribble, close control dribble, shielding dribble.
Passing & Receiving Focus: Foot placement, weight of pass, pace of pass, accuracy, vision and awareness, timing, variations in technique, control with different parts of the foot and body, turns, first touch, off the ball movement, combination play.
Shooting Focus: Foot placement, body positioning, approach, striking technique, accuracy, shot variations, decision making.
Goalkeeping Focus: Shot stopping, handling, footwork, diving, distribution, crosses and high balls, communication, position, one-on-one situations, penalty saving.
Principles of Play: Attacking Focus: Possession, ball movement, movement off the ball, width & depth, penetration, combination play, crossing & finishing, overloads, transition, patience, tactical awareness, set pieces, creativity & imagination, decision-making.
Principles of Play: Defending Focus: Positioning, marking, pressure, tackling, shape, communication, jockeying, interceptions, cover & support, clearances, patience, game understanding, discipline, adaptability.
Positional Roles & Responsibilities Focus: Roles and responsibilities of goalkeepers, center backs, outside backs, defending midfielders, attacking midfielders, wingers and strikers. In addition to the skills and qualities each player needs to be successful at their respective positions.
