Ένα μουσικό ταξίδι, την  Πέμπτη, 8 Ιανουαρίου 2026, στις 7μ.μ. στο Τεχνόπολις 20, που μεταφέρει το κοινό στη μαγεία του Broadway’s Living Room της Νέας Υόρκης, εκεί όπου η λάμψη συναντά την οικειότητα των cabaret βραδιών. Τραγούδια από εμβληματικά και πολυβραβευμένα μιούζικαλ του Broadway και του West End – από τα Funny Girl και Cabaret μέχρι τα Wicked, Grease, West Side Story και πολλά άλλα – υφαίνουν μια ατμόσφαιρα γεμάτη συναίσθημα, ένταση και θεατρικό χαρακτήρα.

Στη σκηνή συναντιούνται η Μήδεια Καλού (φωνή) και η Μαριάννα Γεωργίου (πιάνο) και μαζί ζωντανεύουν διαχρονικές μελωδίες, τιμώντας τις μεγάλες ντίβες του μουσικού θεάτρου και προσφέροντας μια βραδιά γεμάτη λάμψη, χιούμορ, ευαισθησία και ζωντανή ατμόσφαιρα.

ΒΙΟΓΡΑΦΙΚΑ
Η μεσόφωνος, ερμηνεύτρια και τραγουδοποιός Μήδεια Καλού είναι απόφοιτη μονωδίας του School of Vocal Studies and Opera του Royal Northern College of Music, της τάξης της υψίφωνου Sarah Rhodes. Αποφοιτώντας από το Μουσικό Σχολείο Πάφου με διπλή ειδίκευση στο πιάνο και στη φωνή, και έχοντας εμφανιστεί πλάι σε μερικούς από τους πιο σημαντικούς Έλληνες καλλιτέχνες της εποχής μας όπως ο Γιάννης Χαρούλης, ο Κώστας Μακεδόνας, η Μελίνα Καννά, ο Γιώργος Περρής, ο Γιώργος Νταλάρας, ο Διονύσης Σαββόπουλος, και η Μαργαρίτα Ζορμπαλά, το ρεπερτόριό της καλύπτει ένα ευρύ φάσμα μουσικών ειδών από την κλασική , την ποπ, την γκόσπελ μουσική και το μουσικό θέατρο μέχρι το ελληνικό έντεχνο τραγούδι, την παραδοσιακή και ρεμπέτικη μουσική.  
Μερικές από τις πιο πρόσφατες εμφανίσεις της περιλαμβάνουν τις παραγωγές όπερας του RNCM L’ Etoile του E. Chabrier ως αντικαταστάτρια στον ρόλο της Zinnia και Die Fledermaus του J. Strauss II ως μέλος χορωδίας. Έχει επίσης ερμηνεύσει ρόλους όπως του Annio από την όπερα La Clemenza di Tito του W.A. Mozart και της Mrs Bentson από την όπερα Lakmé του L. Delibes. Τον Γενάρη του 2025 επιλέχθηκε να συμμετάσχει ως χορωδός της British - German Choir Academy στην χειμερινή περιοδεία της Συμφωνικής Ορχήστρας Νέων της Γερμανίας (Bundesjugendorchester) ερμηνεύοντας το έργο “Πλανήτες” του Holst υπό την διεύθυνση του Wayne Marshall (OBE). Το καλοκαίρι του 2023, ερμήνευσε το Ligeti’s Requiem στa BBC Proms 2023, "Prom 36: A Space Odyssey" ως μέλος της Χορωδίας Μουσικής Δωματίου του RNCM, με την London Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir υπό τη διεύθυνση του Edward Gardner. Η Μήδεια Καλού είναι επίσης συνιδρύτρια και μέλος του νεοιδρυθέντος Γυναικείου Φωνητικού Συνόλου “Ventis”. Επιπλέον, έχει συμμετάσχει σε masterclasses με καταξιωμένες υψίφωνους όπως η Χριστίνα Πουλίτσι και η Ζωή Νικολαίδου.

 
H Κύπρια πιανίστα Μαριάννα Γεωργίου ολοκλήρωσε τις προπτυχιακές και μεταπτυχιακές της σπουδές στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Νότινγχαμ στο Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο, όπου διακρίθηκε ως μέλος διάφορων οργανικών συνόλων και συμμετείχε σε σεμινάρια με διακεκριμένους πιανίστες. Μετά την επιστροφή της στην Κύπρο, εμφανίζεται τακτικά ως σολίστ και μέλος συνόλων μουσικής δωματίου σε συναυλίες τόσο στην Κύπρο όσο και στο εξωτερικό με τελευταία την εμφάνιση της με το Trio Aeon στο φεστιβάλ του παλατιού Gödöllő στην Ουγγαρία (Αύγουστος 2025), εμπλουτίζοντας την καλλιτεχνική της εμπειρία μέσω διεθνών συνεργασιών και ποικίλων ακροατηρίων. Το ενδιαφέρον της για τη σύγχρονη μουσική δημιουργία και τις διεπιστημονικές συνεργασίες αντικατοπτρίζεται στη συμμετοχή της σε σημαντικές καλλιτεχνικές εκδηλώσεις, όπως η Τελετή Λήξης των εορτασμών της Πολιτιστικής Πρωτεύουσας της Ευρώπης Πάφος 2017, η περιπατική συναυλία με σύγχρονη μουσική για πιάνο «Οδός Πλήκτρων - Πέντε Βήματα στο Μέλλον» και θεματικές συναυλίες όπως «Ο Κλασικός Θεοδωράκης», «Έξι&Πέντε» και το σόλο ρεσιτάλ-πρότζεκτ με τίτλο «Visions Fugitives». Το πρόγραμμα περιλάμβανε ρεπερτόριο του 20ού και 21ου αιώνα, 
συμπεριλαμβανομένης της παγκόσμιας πρεμιέρας του έργου «Ρύαξ» της καταξιωμένης Κύπριας συνθέτριας Χριστίνας Αθηνοδώρου. Από τον Σεπτέμβριο του 2016, διδάσκει στο Μουσικό Σχολείο Πάφου. 
Η ενασχόλησή της με τη μελέτη και την ερμηνεία έργων Κυπρίων και Ελλαδιτών συνθετών (Χριστίνας Αθηνοδώρου, Ευαγόρα Καραγιώργη, ο Χάρη Σοφοκλέους, Καλλιόπης Τσουπάκη, Χρίστου Σαμαρά κα) υπογραμμίζει τη δέσμευσή της να καλλιεργεί μουσικές παραδόσεις και να τις συνδέει με σύγχρονες πολιτισμικές τάσεις. Επιπλέον, οι συνεργασίες της με συνθέτες, πολιτιστικούς οργανισμούς και διεθνείς κοινότητες δημιουργούν εύφορο έδαφος για καλλιτεχνική ανάπτυξη και ενισχύουν την παρουσία της σε ποικίλα πολιτιστικά περιβάλλοντα.

Inspired by the intimate yet dazzling cabaret evenings of Broadway’s Living Room, join us for a night that captures the true spirit of Broadway, on Thursday, 8th of January 2026, at 7pm, at Technopolis 20.

With songs from some of the most iconic and award-winning musicals of Broadway and the West End — including Funny Girl, Cabaret, Wicked, Grease, West Side Story and many more — Midia Kalou (voice) and Marianna Georgiou (piano) will take the stage for an evening filled with drama, charm and glamorous theatricality.

Together, they pay tribute to some of the most beloved female characters and theatre divas, bringing their stories, emotions and unforgettable melodies to life in a night that promises sparkle, passion and pure musical delight.

A few words about the artists
Midia Kalou is a versatile musician, singer - songwriter and performer whose artistry is defined by both her captivating presence as a soloist and her passion for collaboration. From an early age, she found solace in music, having piano and vocal lessons before graduating from the Music School of Paphos. Since then, she has shared the stage with some of Greece’s most celebrated artists, including Yiannis Charoulis, Kostas Makedonas, Melina Kana, George Perris, George Dalaras, Dionysis Savvopoulos, and Margarita Zorbala. A recent graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music with a First-Class Honours Bachelor of Music degree in Performance from the School of Vocal Studies and Opera, Midia studied under the tutelage of soprano Sarah Rhodes. Her unique vocal timbre and multilayered vocal training, reflect her ability to cross a remarkable range of genres with ease, from Western Classical, Pop, Gospel, and Musical Theatre to Greek Entechno, Rembetiko, and Folk music.  
Some of her recent performance highlights include Mahler’s Symphony no.2 in C minor conducted by Antony Hermus as part of Manchester Classical 2025 (chorus), RNCM’s productions of L’Étoile (covering the role of Zinnia) and Die Fledermaus (chorus), the Mikis Theodorakis: Music for Peace spotlight concert with the Bloomfield String Quartet, and the Manchester premiere of Leonard Bernstein’s Mass (chorus) at the Bridgewater Hall under the baton of Clark Rundell, presented as part of RNCM’s 50th anniversary celebrations. In 2025, she was selected to perform with the National Youth Orchestra of Germany (BJO) on its “BJO goes British” tour as a member of the Deutsch-Britische Chorakademie, directed by Benedikt Kantert and conducted by Wayne Marshall (OBE), with performances across Austria, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Beyond her solo work, Midia has always cherished the collective experience of ensemble singing. She has performed with the RNCM Chamber Choir in major projects such as Ligeti’s Requiem at the BBC Proms 2023 (Prom 36: A Space Odyssey) with the London Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Edward Gardner, and RNCM’s 50th anniversary concert broadcasted live on BBC Radio 3. She was also a member of the RNCM Gospel Choir directed by Wayne Ellington, where she was featured as a soloist in their debut concert in 2024. She is the co-founder and member of the Ventis Vocal Ensemble and has participated in masterclasses and workshops with sopranos Christina Poulitsi and Zoe Nicolaidou.
 
The Cypriot pianist Marianna Georgiou completed her undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the University of Nottingham in United Kingdom, where she excelled as a member of various instrumental ensembles and participated in masterclasses with distinguished pianists. Upon her return to Cyprus, she regularly appears as a soloist and a member of chamber music ensembles in concerts both in Cyprus and abroad, most recently appearing with Trio Aeon at the Gödöllő Palace Festival in Hungary (August 2025), enriching her artistic experience through international collaborations and diverse audiences. 
Her deep passion for contemporary musical creation and interdisciplinary collaborations is evident in her participation in major artistic events, such as the Closing Ceremony of the celebrations of Pafos 2017 – European Capital of Culture, the walking concert of contemporary piano music “Odós Plíktron – Five Steps into the Future”, and thematic concerts such as “Classical Theodorakis”, “Six&Five”, and the solo recital–project titled “Visions Fugitives”. The programme included 20th- and 21st-century repertoire, including the world premiere of “Ryax” by acclaimed Cypriot composer Christina Athinodorou. Since September 2016, she has been teaching at the Paphos Music School. 
Her involvement in activities that include the study and performance of works by Cypriot and Greek composers (Christina Athinodorou, Evagoras Karageorgis, Charis Sofokleous, Calliope Tsoupaki, Christos Samaras, among others) highlights her commitment to cultivating musical traditions and connecting them with contemporary cultural trends. Additionally, her collaborations with composers, cultural institutions, and international communities provide fertile ground for artistic growth and enhance her presence in diverse cultural settings.
