Join Lee-Anne in practicing traditional methods of gathering of this fibre, preparing the raw material, boiling and drying. You will use various haehae (sizing tools) for sizing the strands. Stories belonging to this fibre and what it was used for will be shared.

This workshop will be held in the pā harakeke shelter.

Spaces for this workshop are limited so please book your ticket at https://events.humanitix.com/kiekie-preparation-for-weavers

Tickets cost $60 per person and this is workshop is for adults only.

Please bring:

         Your own lunch and drink
         Gloves
         Closed sturdy footwear
         A towel or small tarpaulin to take kiekie strands home
         Be dressed for working outdoors
