The schedule will be posted on the day of the event, but we know that Linda's will be open, Waldo's will have karaoke, and PUB has burger night till 8pm. We'll probably start around 5pm!
Remember ... SantaCon is a word-of-mouth event. Invite everyone, even if you think they're probably already invited. Spread the word!
This is a public Facebook event, so anyone can invite anyone to the event!

What is SantaCon, you may be asking?
SantaCon is a gathering, or, convention, of people dressed like Santa (or elves, reindeer, Mrs. Claus, the Grinch, etc.). Why? Because it’s fun.
SantaCon is a flash mob.
SantaCon is a pub crawl.
SantaCon is a costume party.
SantaCon is bawdy, rambunctious, holly jolly adult fun.
SantaCon is a reclaiming of all things Santa from the commercialism of the holiday season.
SantaCon is free of cover charge.
SantaCon is NOT a kids party. Kids are not prohibited, but be warned they may be scarred for life. Leave them at home.
SantaCon is NOT a parade.
SantaCon is NOT AN UGLY SWEATER PARTY, FOR THE LOVE OF GINGERBREAD!!!
SantaCon is NOT a dangerous, lawless riot – Santa is cool to kids, cops, and bar staff.
SantaCon is NOT religious. Christmas is used here as a secular theme only, and any other kind of winter holiday-themed costumes are welcomed. Taking part in SantaCon doesn't imply you support any particular religion or doctrine. It's just silly fun.
SANTACON HISTORY
SantaCon has been going in cities and towns all over the world since 1994, when it started in San Francisco by the Cacophony Society, which has ties to Burning Man. It has previously been known as Santarchy, Santa Mob, Santa Rampage, Santa Crawl, Red Menace, etc. It is loosely organized and anti-commercial.
The original inspiration came from an earlier SF adventure club called The Suicide Club who's founder came up with the idea after reading an article about a Danish political group who mobbed a Copenhagen Department store just before Christmas. However, the first American and all subsequent SantaCons around the world are non-political, purely surreal Santa prank events. Read the full story at SantaCon.info
HOW TO SANTACON
The following guidelines are to help you and everyone enjoy SantaCon. They are not rules. SantaCon has no rules except that you must dress festively (NO UGLY SWEATERS) but if you take heed of the friendly advice below it will help keep you safe, warm and on Santa's Nice list.
WHAT TO WEAR
For the purposes of SantaCon, “Santa” can be Santa, or ANY other winter holiday-themed character, including but not limited to Mrs. or Ms. Claus, elves, reindeer, Christmas trees, the Grinch, Krampus, Frosty the Snowman, gingerbread man, Hanukkah candles, tinsel monster, etc.
Dress up! You don't have to dress exactly like Santa but the general theme is red and white. Santa hat with red pajamas, Santa hat with red tutu, Santa hat with red leisure suit, etc. etc. Zombie Santa, Lebowski Santa, Devil Santa … you get the idea.
A SANTA HAT ALONE IS NOT ENOUGH! Dress like Santa or something Santish. A Santa hat and street clothes does not count. If you don’t have and/or want a Santa suit, consider if your outfit makes the story better or worse. “I saw 100 Santas, one of them was wearing a red and white tuxedo and they had reindeer and a Frosty” is a way better story than “I saw a group of regular people, they had a few Santas with them.” If you have to choose between a chicken costume with a Santa hat or jeans, a hoodie and a Santa hat, be Santa Chicken.

Of course, the easiest costume idea is simply Santa.
HOW DO I BE SANTA?
Be jolly!
Don't break the law. Don’t drink and drive. Don’t be that Santa.
Address your fellow Santi as "Santa." A common greeting, thank you, and expression of affection is “Fuck you, Santa.” A common rallying cry is "HO!"
Pay with cash, order easy drinks, and tip well. Pub crawls slam bars and Santa is cool to bar staff
Optional … bring gifts: Nice things to give children; nice or naughty things for adults. Candy is great. Mutant toys are greater.
Santa dresses for all occasions. If it's cold outside, wear multiple costume layers. Dress to maximize merriment whether singing carols in the snow, or swinging from a stripper pole in a hot nightclub (Paonia Santa knows there are no strip clubs in Paonia, or Delta County, but Santas can dream!).
No Santa left behind! Don't think only of yourself - Santa cares about his fellow Santi. This will be easy in Paonia.
Additionally, while most people welcome Santa with a smile, others can be somewhat intimidated. If anyone considers you to be a Grinch disguised as Santa about to steal their Christmas please don't argue or make a fuss, just politely move on.

You are dressed exactly like me, so fucking with the cops may get me in trouble. Get me in trouble, I will get you in trouble. See fuck 4.

We’re all just trying to have fun, so remember that you’re Santa too and don’t ruin the fun for others.
DEALING WITH THE NORMIES
Santa doesn't talk to the press. Even "ho, ho, ho" is controversial these days. Seriously, no-one speaks for Santa - not you, not me, not even Santa. You can express your opinion but, since you're dressed like Santa, the media might treat it as Santa's opinion.
When asked who is in charge, the answer is always “Santa.”
When asked Why are you all dressed like Santa, try these responses on for size …
* Because it’s CHRISTMASSSSS! We’re SANNNNNTA!
* Why aren’t you?
* What do you mean, "Dressed Like?"
