En 1991, Orlando s'installe à Paris, où il est régulièrement invité à jouer avec Alfredo Rodriguez, Azuquita, ou encore Ernesto "Tito" Puentes. Tout au long de sa carrière, il a également été l'invité d'artistes tels que Eddie Palmieri, Arturo Sandoval, Mongo Santamaria, Tata Guines, Patato Valdes, Changuito, Giovanni Hidalgo, Julia Migenes, Chocolate Armenteros, Papaito Munoz, Kip Hanrahan, Archie Chepp, Chico Freeman, Larry Harlow, Tito Allen, José Alberto "El Canario", Bernard Lavilliers, Danny Brillant, Jérôme Savary...

Avec son ensemble "Chaworo", Orlando Poleo s'est également produit sur les scènes internationales aux côtés de Tracy Chapman, Youssou N'Dour, Peter Gabriel, Bruce Springsteen, Kassav, Joe Cocker et Joan Baez.
Il a enregistré 3 disques distribués par Sony France & AVR au Venezuela : « Cimarroneando », « El Buen Camino » et « Lo bueno de la vida », et un quatrième « Curate », sorti en 2008, sous le label « Cacao Mùsica ». Son dernier album est sorti en septembre 2021 sous le label Cézame Latin (por la vida).
