Structurer le chaos, sacraliser la tension, tel pourrait être le mantra de Gilla Band, dont l’œuvre sonore ne détonnerait nullement dans les couloirs d’une galerie brutaliste. Quatre années après l’album « Most Normal », le quatuor dublinois dévoile aujourd’hui le single « Giraffe », et annonce dans la foulée deux concerts en France, dont le 20 janvier 2027 au Trabendo, à Paris.

Depuis plus de dix ans maintenant, Gilla Band, composé du chanteur Dara Kiely, du guitariste Alan Duggan Borges, du bassiste Daniel Fox et du batteur Adam Faulkner, redéfinit ce que l’on pourrait vaguement appeler le « rock » au XXIe siècle, influençant au passage toute une vague de groupes à guitares tout aussi avant-gardistes. Le groupe a perfectionné une vision qui n’était ni tout à fait post-punk, ni tout à fait noise rock, une musique hybride singulière et révolutionnaire qui ne pouvait venir que d’eux quatre.
