This is a caravan tour with participants driving their own vehicle following behind the tour leader. Vehicles are subject to road conditions on the Pungo Unit. It is recommended to arrive with a full tank of gas and to be driving in a 4WD capable vehicle to avoid getting stuck on the refuge. Roads on the refuge have a weight limit of 8,000lbs. The tour will begin at the Pungo Unit Kiosk located near 600 Refuge Rd Pantego, NC at the corner of Pat's Rd and Refuge Rd. There is a sign at the kiosk stating "Refuge Tour Meets Here." Tours last approximately 1.5 hours.
