For the past ten years, local artist and educator Tammy Marinuzzi has been on a personal and artistic journey, walking the symbolic distance between Panama City, FL, and Pondicherry, India — a total of 9,514 miles. This journey, called PondiWalk, was inspired by her time as a visiting artist and instructor at Golden Bridge Pottery in Tamil Nadu, India. It has been both a physical and reflective exploration meant to raise awareness of the lives of young girls in India’s pottery caste. This exhibit at The Light Room will mark the completion of her walk, and feature photographs from her walking journal, capturing meaningful moments from this ten-year journey.
