Truck-A-Palooza

Our local P.E.O. Chapter is hosting our first Truck-A-Palooza event Saturday September 6th 10am-1pm at the parking lot of the recreation park softball complex. Admission is $5 for everyone over the age of 5 years and will be free for all kids 5 years of age and under. PEO is a Philanthropic Education Organization that promotes higher education in women with local chapters in the US and internationally. Truck-A-Palooza is an event where we invite first responders, companies and individuals with cool equipment and vehicles to come out to share these with families who pay a small entrance fee and explore those vehicles. The kids can look inside and ask questions and just get to see some equipment up close they may not get to usually. The first hour of the event we will be doing a quiet hour where we ask that no engines, horns or sirens be turned on. This is so that little kids or individuals with sensory concerns can come out to the event as well. Our local chapter tries to have a couple fundraisers a year where we raise funds for P.E.O scholarships with the goal of having funds to also give a local scholarship.
