Participants will examine how circulation and gas exchange are interdependent, and develop practical skills in respiratory assessment, invasive mechanical ventilation, arterial blood gas interpretation, and emergency management within the context of cardiac disease.OBJECTIVESUpon completion of the course, the participant will be able to:Understand how the pulmonary assessment interacts with the cardiac system.​Learn all forms of invasive mechanical ventilation.​Apply knowledge to troubleshoot common issues with respiratory system.​Develop a plan on how to respond to common respiratory emergencies.​Understand how to interpret arterial blood gases and anticipate potential interventions.CONTINUING EDUCATIONThis continuing education (CE) course is offered through Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford by the Center for Professional Excellence and Inquiry (CPEI). Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN), Provider Number 9713.Center for Professional Excellence and Inquiry is accredited as provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation (ANCC).Number of BRN Contact Hours: PENDINGNumber of ANCC Contact Hours: PENDINGOther Medical Professionals:Contact your professional board to determine if they accept continuing education (CE) credits approved by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).Earning CE CreditsTo be eligible for Continuing Education (CE) credits, participants are required to attend the entire course or event and complete the course evaluation. Partial credit cannot be granted for late arrivals or early departures.Certificate Issuance and Record KeepingCE certificates will be distributed within 30 days of course completion. Participants are responsible for maintaining their personal records of accrued CE documentation.
