Dance music from 2025 films will include:
One Battle After Another (nightclub two step), KPop Demon Hunters (hustle, west coast swing), del Toro's Frankenstein (waltz), Sinners (west coast swing), Marty Supreme (one-step, swing), Mickey 17 (rotary waltz and cross-step waltz), Elio (bachata), Wednesday Season 2 (waltz), Superman 2025 (cha-cha), Saiyaara, Bollywood (waltz), A Minecraft Movie (line dance), Companion (cross-step waltz), Normal (waltz), Sonic The Hedgehog 3 (polka), Babygirl (hustle), Electric State (NC2S).

Richard Powers teaches classes from 7:15 to 9 pm, partnered by Tracey. Richard is our dance music DJ from 9pm to midnight.

7:15pm - The warmup dance at 7:15 will be the new Bridgerton Mixer. This is a double movie theme, in that the dance itself was in Bridgerton Season 2, 2025, and the music is from the Pride and Prejudice soundtrack. Then the focus will shift to ramping up on rotary waltz for the beginners.

8pm - The Viennese Dream Waltz.  This is a new waltz sequence that Richard has never taught before. The beauty is that it includes both rotary waltz and reverse Viennese waltz, and it is an accessible way for beginners to learn both of those in one class! If you already waltz, please come early to Movie Theme Night to help the newcomers with your assurance and grace. The best way to learn to waltz is to be waltzed by someone who already knows, Lead or Follow! And you'll likely pick up some pointers to make your own waltzing even better.

These are ALL-LEVELS CLASSES, no previous experience required. Be sure to be there by 7:30 for the waltzing, but 7:15 is even better.

9:00 pm - Dance Party will feature Richard's favorite dance music from the movies.  Waltz, swing, tango, cross-step waltz, bachata, West Coast Swing, cha cha, BNP, salsa, Tokyo Polka, Lindy, NC2S, Romany Polka, hustle, and more!

For those who don't know about Richard Powers, he is one of the world's foremost experts in social dance. He has taught dance in Paris, London, Rome, Venice, Prague, Vienna, Verona, Geneva, Seville, St. Petersburg, Moscow and Tokyo, including 34 workshops in France (teaching in French) and 28 in Japan (teaching in Japanese). Richard is currently the full-time social dance instructor at Stanford University.

Class starts at 7:15. Please arrive 15 minutes early to avoid the rush.
$15 general. $10 for students with ID.
Cash, Check, Credit Card, Apple Pay. We do not accept Venmo. Tickets at the door.
No partner necessary. We rotate rapidly in class.
All Ages. Casual comfortable attire.
