- **Event Description**: A huge night of Speedway action this Saturday night at the Robertson Prestige International Speedway with something on the programme for the whole family! The popular Cowgirls Vs. Cowboys Stockcar Teams race returns, along with the prestigious Top Cat Contracting North Island Minisprint Championship is decided with local hometown heroes likely podium contenders,  plus the Saloon King of the Arena is crowned and the daredevil sidecars compete for the AFC Motorcycles Manawatu Sidecar Championship – one of the most sought-after Sidecar championship titles on offer for the class. Rounding out the mammoth night of speedway action, metal crunching Stockcars complete what is set to be a spectacular night!
 
The return of the popular Girls vs Boys Stockcar teams’ race is always a much-discussed topic and the 'battle of the sexes' was a close contest at the previous event, and this year it’s hard to pick who the favourite will be. The KB Cowgirls have a strong team which includes 23p Riki-Lee Kauri,24p Jessica Powell, 85g Brittany Carpenter, 55b Asha Penn, and 134p Rebecca Barr who should give the Cowboys a run for their money!  The Cowboys have an equally strong team to take on the cowgirls with 6v Dion Mooney, 27v Cody Ogle, 33T Trazarn Ryland-Annabell, 39p Graeme Munn, and 46v Ashton Mooney. These teams’ races are always exciting!
 
The Top Cat Contracting North Island Minisprint Championship will be hotly contested with the local hometown heroes may have the home track advantage and are likely podium contenders, with drivers including 8p Nathan Jefferies and Glen McCutcheon all in serious contention for the title. Defending champion 3nz Daniel Nickel will be looking to go back-to-back at the Championship, coming off the high of winning the New Zealand Minisprint Grand Prix at Oceanview Speedway and placing Third in the New Zealand Minisprint Championship held at Stratford Speedway and a second placing in the Manawatu Championship, he is surely one to watch come this Championship! With drivers from Stratford and Wanganui rounding out a quality field, this Top Cat Contracting North Island Minisprint Championship is likely to go down to the wire.
 
Saloons return to the Central Energy Trust Arena in the form of Corvettes, Camaros and Mustangs racing wheel-to-wheel, with a packed field of drivers ready to put on a spectacular show for the crowning of the Saloon King of the Arena. The Saloon class has seen some spectacular racing this season with drivers like 7p Clayton More, 57p Calvin Honore and 81p Jonathan Mason to keep a close eye on during this Championship.
 
The daredevil Sidecars are on the programme and racing side-by-side for the prestigious AFC Motorcycles Manawatu title. Fans are to expect fast and thrilling racing, with initial interest suggesting this is one of the biggest and best Sidecar meetings on offer this season. With many local rider and swinger combinations who have been competing consistently this season, it's anybody’s guess who will take the top spot on the podium. 8p Rob Miller & Jaxon Hannan have had an impressive season so far with first placings in both the New Zealand Sidecar Grand Prix & North Island titles this season. Also included in the lineup is 3nz David Gannon & Daryl Pearce, local favourites, 5p Wingnut & Sam McNaught, 17p Tony Hislop & Aidan Foothead, 89p Wayne & Max Lett and the return of 97p powerhouse of Mike Zachan & Ben Franklin.
 
Metal crunching Stockcars round out what will be an exceptional night of Speedway action!

Admission prices are $30 for an Adult (16 years and over), $10 for Children aged 8-15, and $70 for a Family pass of 2 adults and up to four children. Kids aged 7 and under are FREE.
 
Tickets are available to pre-purchase online from https://www.eventfinda.co.nz,  (tickets purchased incur an additional service fee) or on race day from Gate 1 (Waldegrave Street), Gate 2 (Cuba Street - Bridge) and Gate 3 (Cook Street) from 5pm.
 
Racing starts 6pm.
