Join us for the Moutoa Floodgates Experience on Saturday 22 November 2025 for a fun, family-friendly day out where you’ll get a rare, behind-the-scenes look at one of our region’s most impressive flood protection assets 💧🫶
Following major upgrades earlier this year, we’re opening the gates (literally!) to show how they keep Horowhenua communities like Levin, Shannon and Foxton safe and dry during big weather events.
On the day, you’ll be able to:

✨ See the mini floodgate model
✨ Have a go at the Civil Defence ‘Pack ya bags’ challenge

🎫 Tickets: $5 for adults (14+), under 14 are free
🚍 Transport: access by bus only (pickups from Levin, Shannon or Foxton depending on your session)
