Speedway action this Saturday night at the Robertson Prestige International Speedway where the Manawatu Saloon Championship is decided along with the exhilarating side-by-side Sidecar racing action for the AFC Motorcycles Sidecar Best Pairs. Saturday night will also see the return of V8 Modifieds racing wheel to wheel around the Robertson Prestige International Speedway. Fantastic SuperStocks, metal crunching Stockcars and eye-catching Minisprints add to a massive night of entertainment.
A quality field of drivers is expected for the sought after Manawatu Saloon Championship adding to a packed show at the Robertson Prestige International Speedway in the form of Corvettes, Camaros and Mustangs racing wheel-to-wheel. The wide tyres and thundering V8 engines add another style of speedway racing which is proving popular not only with drivers but the spectators alike. The Saloon racing this season has been competitive at the Robertson Prestige International Speedway with local drivers including 7p Clayton More, 57p Calvin Honore, 81p Jonathan Mason, and 242p Ashleigh King all looking to be in contention for the title.
Adding to the exciting programme is the AFC Motorcycles Sidecar Best Pairs which will see some of the country’s best sidecar combinations pair up and battle it out. With 14 combinations confirmed including 5p Wingnut & Sam McNaught, 8p Rob Miller & Jaxon Hannan, 17p Tony Hislop & Aidan Foothead, recent Ray Tarrant Sidecar Memorial winners 27b Craig Boaler & Kayla Meehan all included in the sensational field. The Robertson Prestige International Speedway has seen some spectacular Sidecar racing and this best pair championship is set to deliver this high calibre of entertainment for the fans once again!
With the return of the V8 Modifieds to the Robertson Prestige International Speedway, expect a high calibre of side-by-side racing from these v8 powered race cars with replica fiberglass car bodies and big wings! Drivers including Newton Gordge from Taranaki, Cody Hata from Auckland, 28w Ricky Dykstra and 9e Sheldon Arapere have indicated that they will be in attendance for this momentous return of Modified racing to the Robertson Prestige International Speedway.
Adding to the packed programme this Saturday night, the Superstocks will hit the track with grit, steel, and determination to be at the front of the pack. Metal crunching Stockcars will be battling it out for the chequered flag as well. Both classes race Side-by-side and bumper-to-bumper, these drivers in both classes mean business, with their fearless attitude and willingness to put on a show its anyone’s guess who will carry the chequered flag at the end of the race! Rounding out what is set to be a massive night the Minisprints make their return ahead of their Oval Superstars Tour first round the following weekend.

Admission prices are $30 for an Adult (16 years and over), $10 for Children aged 8-15, and $70 for a Family pass of 2 adults and up to four children. Kids aged 7 and under are FREE.
Tickets are available to pre-purchase online from www.eventfinda.co.nz , (tickets purchased incur an additional service fee) or on race day from Gate 1 (Waldegrave Street), Gate 2 (Cuba Street - Bridge) and Gate 3 (Cook Street) from 5.30pm.
