We will start with the Mount Taylor Bush Walk which is a short loop walk, before we head to the main walk of the day which is the Kowhai Park to Kitchener Park Walkway. This walkway follows the Makino Stream to Kitchener Park, where we will have another loop bush walk through the Awahuri Forest. There will be BBQ facilities available for lunch in Kowhai Park DISTANCE: 7.5km (Mt Taylor 1km, Kitchener Park Wkwy 6.5kms) ELEVATION GAIN: 120m (Mt Taylor 40m, Kitchener Park Wkwy 80m) ROUTE, TERRAIN & TRACK DESCRIPTION: Mt Taylor: Short 1km loop through forest with small hills, may be some muddy areas. The event organizers select the Vehicles and drivers before the event. If you would like to take your vehicle, please email ASAP so the organizer knows your vehicle is available.
