Lifelong Learners will:explore marshes, estuaries, rocky intertidal zone, and dunes on foot and by kayak,learn about monitoring efforts researchers use to understand our coastal environment, andshare stewardship opportunities that everyone can take part in.WHEN: March 24-26, each day from 9:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m.WHERE: Meeting locations vary by day, although all are at or within a five minute drive of the GTM NERR Marineland Field Station, located at 9741 Ocean Shore Blvd in northern Flagler County. You will be your own transportation between locations and bringing a packed lunch with you each day.AGENDAMarch 24: introductions, estuarine plant identification activity, presentations on the GTM NERR, water quality, and plankton, and planton identifcation activity.March 25: Paddle in Matanzas River with Ripple Effect Ecotours in the moring and learn about solutions by playing the Watershed Game in the afternoon.March 26: Presentations on on sand dunes and sea turtles, rocky intertidal exploration and dune plant identification at the beach, discussions and games related to stewardship actions.This program is hosted jointly by the Florida Sea Grant program at UF/IFAS Extension Flagler County and the Friends of the GTM National Estuarine Research Reserve, led by Florida Sea Grant Extension Agent Carolyn and GTM Research Reserve Environmental Specialist John.UF/IFAS Extension is an equal opportunity institution.
