An update is long overdue for our "Honeymoon Cottage" project at Sgt. Alvin C. York State Historic Park! With the help of the Tennessee Historical Commission, we were able to secure a restoration grant for repair to a historic structure on park property. We are nearing that projects completion, and our overall plan is to adapt the home into park administrative offices for site management, another original goal of the 1988 prospectus.

This home once belonged to Alvin York Jr., as well as other families here in the Wolf River Valley. To properly tell their story, Sgt. Alvin C. York State Historic Park will be hosting an "open house" on March 27th, 2026, from 4:30-6:00pm CST. Some of the original residents of the home will be onsite that evening to share their memories and stories with us! Come see the progress that has been made! #tnstateparks
