Un agricoltura eroica, “progettata per essere resiliente”, appunto.

The day after tomorrow, 23 June, will see the start of the 3rd International ‘Resilient by Design’ Workshop (GRABIT26), which will take place on the island of Ustica, off the coast of Palermo in Sicily. Forty-seven international scholars will take turns speaking at the Marine Protected Area Visitor Centre, presenting the latest developments in organic farming and agroecology. Ustica, renowned for its sea and as Italy’s second-oldest marine protected area, is home to a number of organic farms dedicated primarily to the cultivation of lentils, a Slow Food Presidium. A heroic form of agriculture, ‘designed to be resilient’, as it were.
