We're having an away day!
Come along and join us for the first of two events in March – a group sketch around Paisley Town Centre, ending with a visit to the Art Department to find out more about their upcoming 'Urban Sketch' open call drawing exhibition in May.
🕐 1pm – meet at the Cenotaph
🕒 3pm – sketchbook throwdown at the Art Department, 9-11 Causeyside Street PA1 1UW
All you need is your favourite sketchbook and materials.
Paisley has lots to draw in a compact town centre – the Town Hall, Paisley Abbey and the Cenotaph, then further up High Street the recently completed (still closed) redeveloped Paisley Museum and the grandeur of Coats Memorial. Also the fabulous Art Deco Russell Institute just across the road from the Art Dept.
Beginners welcome – experienced sketchers on hand if you need any help or advice!
GOOD TO KNOW:
🚂 10 minutes on the train from Glasgow Central to Gilmour Street, then 2-3 minutes walk to the Cenotaph
☔️ in case of rain, shelter can be found in the Piazza shopping centre or Pendulum restaurant with views of the Town Hall and Abbey (but likely to be busy on a Saturday afternoon)
