Many parents are told to “just have them read more.” But when a child is struggling, that advice often leads to more stress, not more progress.

I’ll be hosting a hands-on workshop for parents at the Central YMCA in Painesville where we’ll talk about how reading actually works and what parents can do to support their child.

Parents will learn:
✔ The two essential skills every reader needs
✔ How to tell if your child struggles with words or comprehension
✔ What a reading profile is and why it matters
✔ How to use a simple Maze reading check
✔ What oral reading fluency reveals about accuracy, pacing, and confidence
